If you are experiencing difficulties connecting to or detecting a Huawei device please try the following steps:

  1. With the device disconnected, ensure developer mode has been enabled.
  2. Within the developer settings, enable USB debugging.
  3. Look for an option that says "Allow ADB debugging in charge only mode" and enable it if present.
  4. Select "Revoke USB debugging Authorisations".
  5. Find the "Select USB configuration" if available and change it to PTP mode. If this setting is not available then skip this step.
  6. Connect the device.
  7. If prompted on the device for USB mode, again select PTP mode.
  8. If there is no prompt, swipe down from the top of the screen, find the USB setting and ensure it is on PTP mode.

If this is unsuccessful, the best solution is then to install Huawei's HiSuite software. This is the Huawei equivalent to iTunes and will install relevant device drivers to your machine and resolves most connectivity issues. We would recommend however you try the steps listed above first.
